We kicked off our second A-to-Z Café Tour of Brisbane with a visit to Adonis in Stretton—and what a way to start! It is attached to a service station, but don’t let that fool you. This café has a charm and style all its own.
We arrived bright and early at 7:30am, and while it was quiet at first, it didn’t stay that way for long. This spot is clearly becoming a local favourite. The staff were incredibly welcoming and let us know weekends get busy, but weekdays are a little more laid-back.
Adonis is part of a growing café chain, and this location is relatively new to the scene. We shared the OG Breakfast, which was big and packed with variety and flavour. The corn fritter was the star of the plate for me—crispy on the outside, soft and savoury on the inside.
For something sweet, we couldn’t go past the Salted Choc Caramel Tart. The pastry shell itself was somewhat bland, but the filling was outstanding. The coffees were smooth, strong, and decent in size.
Bonus points for dog lovers: they sell a range of delicious-looking dog biscuits, so your furry friend is welcome to tag along too! Just don’t order from that menu for yourself by mistake!
This café is on the pricier side, but with great service, good food, and a relaxed feeling, it’s well worth the splurge. We finished our outing with a peaceful walk-through Karawatha Forest, just around the corner: shady paths, fresh air, and birdsong—a perfect Saturday morning combo.
